BLENDED ONLINE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID:
COMMUNITY
Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance. Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however most do not cover mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches people the skills to help someone who they're concerned about.
Adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course for adults and teaches participants how to assist a friend, family member, or other members of the community who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. Mental health first aid skills learnt in this course can be applied in any setting. Course content is tailored for community setting delivery using case-studies, videos and resources tailored to their learning needs.
Blended Mental Health First Aid Courses are an alternate online delivery pathway for our 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course (for adults assisting other adults). Blended MHFA Courses include two components:
Course Component 1:
A self-paced eLearning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete)
Course Component 2:
An Instructor-led component either face-to-face or using video conferencing technology.
MHFA Training Outcomes:

DE-STIGMATISING

SUPPORT
