BLENDED ONLINE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID: WORKPLACE
Each year 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Many people are not knowledgeable or confident to offer assistance. Physical first aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however most do not cover mental health problems. Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) teaches people the skills to help someone who they're concerned about.
Adapted from the Standard Mental Health First Aid Course this course focuses on the workplace and provides relevant information and tailored scenarios and exercises that will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to provide initial mental health first aid to assist colleagues, clients, and other workplace contacts who may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis, and how to connect people needing assistance to existing workplace supports and external professional help.
Blended Mental Health First Aid Courses are an alternate online delivery pathway for our 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course (for adults assisting other adults). Blended MHFA Courses include two components:
Course Component 1:
A self-paced eLearning component (takes 5-7 hours to complete)
Course Component 2:
An Instructor-led component either face-to-face or using video conferencing technology.
